The newly launched Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) supports transformative research to drive biomedical and health breakthroughs – ranging from molecular to societal – to provide transformative health solutions for all. A new component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, ARPA-H is authorized with a budget of $1 billion for Fiscal Year 2023.

FFMI Innovation Studio- 3rd Tuesday of Every Month

The new FFMI Innovation Studio provides life science innovators of all levels with individual consulting to address project needs, challenges, or questions. Participants will get the chance to engage and consult with experts from Fast Forward Medical Innovation and the broader University of Michigan entrepreneurship network, including the Office of Tech Transfer, the Ross School of Business Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, and the College of Engineering’s Center for Entrepreneurship.

U-M Regenerative Medicine Translational Research Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program

The program provides a structured training opportunity to prepare post-doctoral fellows for a career as an independent entrepreneurial research investigator or for a translationally-oriented career in non-academic sectors. It is designed to enable an existing post-doctoral fellow at U-M to spend 50% effort continuing to pursue their current independent laboratory research, and the other 50% engaging in translational research/ commercialization training, with the costs to be split between the mentoring faculty/ principal investigator and the program. The fellow will have an opportunity to explore the commercial potential of a project on which he/she is working, or another one from your laboratory.

MICHR Summer 2022

MICHR offers a summer research program for pre-doctoral students in health-related professional degree programs at U-M as well as at other U.S. institutions studying in these fields. The three-month full-time program is designed to introduce students to research early in their courses of study, and provides hands-on research experiences in health disparities, precision health, regulatory science, or clinical research. Students will learn the fundamentals of research methods through individualized and team-based learning experiences. The program may serve as an internship for students who need to fulfill such requirements.

FFMI fastPACE is a 4-week biomedical innovation and commercialization course designed for life science innovators with an early-stage project. The fastPACE Course helps participants prepare a successful business case for funding and development partnerships.
